Installing the Argos 6 Database from Scratch

Before You Begin

Existing SQL Server?

If you plan to install the Argos database on your own, existing, SQL Server, then please note:
  • SQL Server 7.0 or higher is required
  • You will need SQL credentials with sufficient permissions to create a new database. The sa login is preferred. Note that SQL credentials are separate and different from your Windows username and password. Contact your database administrator if you are unsure of your SQL credentials.
This document describes the process for upgrading installing a fresh Argos 6 database. If you have an existing Argos 5 database you would like to upgrade, click here.

Launching the Install

Immediately after unpacking Argos, the Installation Splash Page should appear. The first item in the list is database. If the first item reads upgrade db, then the launcher has detected an existing Argos 5 database, and you should refer to the upgrade guide.

Click database to begin the database installation process.
